Ok this is a very interesting question. To address this question, there is a few points:
1) Workmanship on installation: Gradient of the pipe and the indoor units must be correct.
2) Grade of material used for installation: Good grade insulation prevents condensation leaking.
3) Period of usage of aircon system: Long usage is equivalent of more condensation and growth of algae/mold.
4) Brand or model of aircon system: Some model has deeper water tray to contain more water than other model.
5) Procedure in servicing your aircon: Important area in different aircon model needs different procedure to service.
6) Position of your aircon unit: If units is install above bathroom doors the chance of condensation is high especially after a warm hot bath.
7) Equipment used in servicing: Powerful vacuum can suck out more algae (Know as Jelly) thus clearing your pipes more clearly than a moderate vacuum cleaner.
